Man, Apple legal team and lobbyist team must be very capable. That is in case of actual water damage which can be sometimes ascertained by disassembly of ph... Disassembly of any device immediately voids warranty unless the manufacturer/ approved repair shop does it. Water damage is never covered whether accidental or not, there's water indicators inside the device - if they turn pink/red, you're out of luck.
