Kevin Byard has been quietly one of the top safeties in the game of football, and league members are giving his props. ESPN has released surveys of over 50 execs, coaches, scouts and players to rank the top 10 players at each position, and Byard was slotted in at #7 on the list of top safeties. With 18 interceptions through the past five seasons, Byard has more than Harrison Smith (16) and Tyrann Mathieu (15), who are ranked above him. Byard managed to grab seven pass deflections last year with the Titans' pass rush burdens, yet again showing his big-play ability in the secondary.
