The biggest storyline saw Roman Reigns retain the universal championship despite a valiant effort by Cesaro. Reigns was able to apply his patented guillotine choke to subdue Cesaro. Following the match, Seth Rollins came down to the ring and had a stare down with Reigns before attacking Cesaro.
