Twins' Mitch Garver underwent groin surgery

Minnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver underwent groin surgery on Tuesday night. Garver took a hard foul tip to the groin area during Tuesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles and made a quick exit. The Twins haven't provided a timeline for Garver's absence, but the veteran backstop said on Instagram that he'll be out for a "while." Willians Astudillo, Ben Rortvedt, and possibly Ryan Jeffers will cover backstop duties for Minnesota while Garver is on the shelf.
