Rugby at the Tokyo Olympics: What to Know for 2021

After a year postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Olympics are finally here. One of the most physical contact sports contested in Tokyo will be rugby. Derived from a game of school football in the town of Rugby, England, in 1823, rugby has evolved and taken the world by storm over the past two centuries. Men's rugby (in its typical format of 15 players on each team) was first played at the 1900 Paris Olympics and lasted three more Games before being removed in 1924.
