Joe Banner on why signing Baker Mayfield now makes sense for Browns – Terry Pluto

CLEVELAND, Ohio – In terms of his contract, there is no rush to sign Baker Mayfield, who has two more seasons left on his rookie deal. On Sunday, I wrote about the case against the Browns signing Mayfield to extension now. I pointed out the weakness of some of those arguments. One person in favor of an extension for Mayfield now is Joe Banner, who was the Browns CEO in 2013.
