After winning five medals earlier in the day, the United States swimming team was back at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre for more qualifying heats. First up was the women's 800m freestyle. Coming in first was, guess who, Katie Ledecky. While she didn't sniff her Olympic record she set in 2016, Ledecky finished with a time of 8:15.67. Ledecky was coming off her silver medal in the women's 4x200m freestyle relay.
