Stocks drop in choppy trading on recovery, pandemic worries - NewsBreak

U.S. equities extended their declines as investors assessed the trajectory of the economic recovery. The S&P 500 fell 0.6 percent to 4,433 in the five days through Friday, pushing its drop from the Sept. 2 record high to 2.3 percent. It was the first time the benchmark posted back-to-back weekly losses since May. The Dow Jones industrial average declined 0.1 percent while the Nasdaq dropped 0.5 percent.
