Social media giants should not be broken up

Regarding your editorial (July 19, "Wrong messenger, wrong fix") on the censorship of free speech by Big Tech, not all Big Tech is the same. Social media giants should not be broken up because they constitute a "natural monopoly," due to what are known as "network effects." For example, I'm on Facebook every day because that's largely how I communicate with family and friends, and how I plan my social activities. Breaking up Facebook would unnecessarily complicate that communication by forcing everyone I deal with to either be on the same (smaller) platform, or on multiple platforms. The former isn't feasible, and there's just not enough time in the day for the latter to be practical.
