Veteran prosecutor Phillips to return as acting U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C

The U.S. Justice Department will name veteran prosecutor Channing Phillips as acting U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, a role he also played in the Obama administration, according to one current and one former department official.
