The U.S. economy grew slightly faster in the second quarter than initially estimated, according to data released Thursday by the Commerce Department. U.S gross domestic product (GDP) grew at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 6.6 percent between April and June, 0.1 percentage points higher than the department's initial estimate of 6.5 percent. That rate measures how much the U.S. economy would have expanded if the pace of second quarter growth extended for 12 months.
