HFW Expands Shanghai With Winston & Strawn Office Chief, Inhouse Hire

HFW has recruited former Winston & Strawn Shanghai managing partner Brinton Scott. Scott advises foreign companies on investments, transactions and other compliance and operational matters such as employment and intellectual property in China. He also chairs the legal committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. He joined Winston & Strawn in 2012 from Clyde & Co where he became a partner in 2011 following its merger with his previous firm Barlow Lyde & Gilbert. Scott has been based in China since the late 1990s having previously practiced with Herbert Smith and Simmons & Simmons.
