Stocks edge higher ahead of company earnings, inflation data - NewsBreak

Stocks edged higher on Wall Street on a wobbly day of trading Tuesday as investors wait for more data on inflation and corporate earnings this week. The S&P 500 was up 0.1% as of 2:18 p.m. Eastern, after having been down 0.3% in the early going. The other major indexes also recovered from an early slide. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 26 points, or 0.1%, to 34,524 and the Nasdaq added 0.3%.
