The Philadelphia Eagles want Jalen Hurts to take charge of their starting-quarterback spot, the NFL team's general manager said in a postdraft assessment. During his rookie season, the former Alabama quarterback started the final four games of Philadelphia's 2020 campaign. Hurts became the first quarterback in NFL history to run for at least 100 yards and throw a touchdown pass in his first start, the first QB in NFL history with at least 500 passing yards and 150 rushing yards in his first two starts and the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era with at least three touchdown passes and a rushing TD in his first road start.
