Way back in 2012, a crossover of fighting game giants was revealed. In what should have been saved for a huge reveal at E3 that year, at Comic Con 2011 Street Fighter X Tekken was first shown to the world. The then-producer of the Street Fighter series, Yoshinori Oni, and still-producer of Tekken, Katsuhiro Harada, said the crossover was to be a two-game venture. Street Fighter X Tekken, developed by Capcom, would bring the 3D characters of Tekken into the 2D world of Street Fighter. Then the folks at Bandai Namco would bring the 2D characters of Street Fighter into the 3D world of Tekken with Tekken X Street Fighter. Well, time passed and, now in 2021, we finally have word from Harada that Tekken X Street Fighter was officially canceled.
