San Francisco's Twitter loses immunity over user-generated content in India

In an unprecedented turn of event that appeared to have bolted out of the blues, the Indian Government said in a court filing dated back to July 5 on Tuesday that Twitter Inc., the San Francisco, California-headquartered microblogging giant, would no longer experience liability protections against its user-generated contents in India, the second-most populous country in the world having had a 18.8 million Twitter user-base as of April 2021.
