On Monday, Former Washington quarterback Alex Smith announced his retirement from the National Football League after a 16-year career. Before coming to DC, Smith was drafted 1st overall in 2005 by San Francisco before being dealt to Kansas City in 2013. On Tuesday, Jordan Reed announced his retirement from the league, noting his long-time battle with concussions. Reed ranks 3rd in Washington history behind Jerry Smith and Chris Cooley for most receiving yards by a tight end.
