What Value Do Suburban Grounds Have To The NRL?

The working title for the first draft of every single one of these NRL Outsider columns has been a variant of "Why do Souths play at Homebush?". To date, I've found a reason to write about something else, but comments made by National Rugby League (NRL) supremo Peter V'Landys—and has an administrator ever befitted the word 'supremo' more than V'Landys?—this week have made the question unavoidable.
