Giants pitcher Alex Wood hushes Pirates, moves to 5-0 in 2021

May 17 (UPI) -- Left-handed pitcher Alex Wood pushed his flawless start to 2021 to 5-0 in the San Francisco Giants' latest victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in Pittsburgh. Wood allowed eight hits and one run in six innings in the 4-1 win Sunday at PNC Park. He pocketed six strikeouts and lowered his season ERA to 1.75.
