G7 leaders pledge to ban or phase out Russian oil imports

France, Germany, Italy, Britain, Japan, Canada and the USA say stopping the flow of Russian oil will cut the main artery of Vladimir Putin’s economy and deny him the revenue he needs to fund the war.
